根據市場分析公司 Strategy Analytics 提供的最新統計數據，2017 Q4 的智慧型手機總營收創下歷史新高，到達了 1200 億美元的水準，而其中，有超過一半的收入都被蘋果賺走了。
根據 Strategy Analytics 的執行董事 Neil Mawston 所說：「iPhone 是一台難以置信的賺錢機器，平均售價將近全行業平均水準的四倍。」雖然 iPhone 售價在智慧型手機產業中算是高單價商品，但其他廠牌也同樣在上漲中，像是三星的平均售價相較去年同期就上漲了 21%，整體行業平均售價也上漲了 18%。
在上個季度中，蘋果共賣出了 7,730 萬支 iPhone，平均售價為 796.42 美元，營收高達 833 億美元。其中最暢銷的機種為 iPhone X，售價為 999 美元。雖然售價高昂，但銷售成績依然很亮眼，蘋果在 2016 Q4 時營收佔比為 48.5%，在 iPhone X 售價上漲後，2017 Q4 成了 51%，整個智慧型手機市場超過一半的營收都進了蘋果的口袋。
雖然蘋果與三星都開始在手機市場中獲利，但大多數競爭對手仍然處於虧損。
