雖然郭明錤認為 iPhone X 的銷量不抱太大期待，但今年夏天就會停產的預測是否也太悲觀了？
根據科技網站 AppleInsider 引用凱基證券分析師郭明錤的報告中稱，根據來自供應鏈的統計數據，蘋果 iPhone X 的市場需求疲軟，目前訂單有所減少。除此之外，報告中甚至表示 iPhone X 的替代品將在今年夏季出現，而 iPhone X 將隨著新品出現而停產。
根據報告中的數字，2018 第一季 iPhone X 的銷售量只有 1,800 萬部，郭明錤還認為，iPhone X 在中國的影響力由於「瀏海」設計的關係，並非如外界預期的那麼受歡迎。另外凱基證券也稱，蘋果將在 2018 的秋季 iPhone 發表會上，一口氣推出三款全新 iPhone，而 iPhone X 也將在新品上市後正式停止銷售，而非如過去一樣採用舊機折扣的方式銷售。
至於今年新品，郭明錤認為像是「iPhone X Plus」的產品將會問世。
儘管對於 iPhone X 的銷售量趨於保守，郭明錤還是認為今年 iPhone 整體出貨量將保持同期 0~5% 的成長，而這得益於蘋果對供應鏈的控制。
